Geographical
Information Systems (GIS)
PIONEER manages
and maintains the GIS process for several large environmental
projects. GIS is used for data compilation, spatial analysis and
geoprocessing, cartographic production, data management, and
information queries. These applications are used to analyze and
assess human and ecological risks, as well as to create solutions to
complex problems. Maps, CAD files, and many other file types are
created in order to manipulate detailed spatial data to simplify the
needs of our clients.
At PIONEER, we
often create basic maps that communicate site conditions with
customers, agencies, stakeholders, and the community. However, we have
also created more complex maps (e.g., cut and fill maps, Thiessen
polygon maps, migration pattern analysis maps, and pollution analysis
maps) to assist in data visualization, data and site analyses,
redevelopment planning, sampling program development, and public
meeting presentations. able to integrate software programs with
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to create more detailed and
advance maps. Additionally, we have created customized
data analysis and mining tools for ArcGIS using ArcObjects. For
these application, we retrieve data based on a geographical data
selection in GIS, then perform data analysis on the selected data in SiteSTAT. We then use the charts and tables available in GIS to
display the results.
